Chargers vs Broncos, live stream 2017. Inside The Matchup: Broncos Tackles vs. Chargers Edge
CHARGERS NOTABLE ROOKIE: Defensive back Desmond King. Only a fifth-round pick from Iowa, most thought he would need a good camp just to make the team. He did that and more, being around the ball for most of the preseason games. The play from the Denver Broncos offensive line in 2016 was simply unacceptable. From failing to open up consistent lanes in the run game, to being blown off the line and blown by on pass sets, the O-line was, for the most part, a sieve last season. That being said, expectations and tensions will be high for this AFC West showdown on Monday night. Take a look at each team’s keys to victory.
BRONCOS NOTABLE ROOKIE: Left tackle Garett Bolles. The first-round pick worked his way into the starting lineup by the end of training camp and will be a work in progress as he settles in on a revamped offensive line that will include at least three new starters. First, in free agency, Elway obtained former Oakland Raiders right tackle Menelik Watson to a three-year, $18.375 million dollar contract. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, Watson has the size, athleticism, and demeanor to be the Broncos best right tackle since Ryan Harris in his first few years in Denver.
If there’s one thing that can keep this Chargers football team from overachieving in 2017, its turnovers. While Rivers has struggled with interceptions over the course of his career, he has played even worse against the guys in navy and orange. If the Broncos end up winning the turnover battle on Monday night, they’ll come away with a victory.
